Meningitis

Who Should Seek Advice?

If you have been contacted by UKHSA or NHS England regarding possible exposure, or you have recently been in an affected area, please follow the guidance provided in your letter or message.

Vaccination

There is no change to NHS eligibility for MenB vaccination at this time.

  • Babies receive the MenB vaccine as part of the routine childhood schedule.
  • Older children and adults are only vaccinated if they meet specific clinical criteria.
  • Please ensure children are up to date with MMR and MenACWY vaccinations

Private vaccinations may be available through external providers for those who do not meet NHS criteria.
